Hi Docker Families
A huge thank you from the Committee to all our players and families who have supported our Return To Training protocols over the last three weeks. Feedback from our coaches has been extremely positive with everyone doing the right thing regarding Getting In, Training, and Getting Out and turning up to the club Training Ready.
The next change to training, will be the transition to full-contact training and full squad training from this weekend. All parents/carers/guardians who are watching training should continue to be in groups of no more than 10 and keep 1.5 metres apart. We are not using our clubrooms so all players are to continue to turn up Training Ready with your own drink bottle. Toilets will be open.
We begin the season on July 12 with a number of Return To Play (RTP) protocols in place for players and spectators per below:
For players:
• If a player feels sick, do not attend games and advise your coach who is responsible for informing the COVID Safety Officer (Jessica Carafa)
• Alcohol-based hand sanitisers will be available on the interchange bench, with players encouraged to use prior, during and following games
• Do not share drink bottles, helmets or equipment that touches your face or head
• Cover your mouth to cough or sneeze (using the fold of your elbow)
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
• Spitting and clearing of nasal/respiratory secretions is not permitted
For families and spectators:
• If you feel sick, do not attend games
• Alcohol-based hand sanitisers will be available around the clubhouse with families and spectators encouraged to use prior, during and following games
• Any attendance at games by families and spectators will always be strictly compliant with government, YJFL, Templestowe JFC and the Ground Managers’ directions and restrictions
• Families and spectators at games must abide by public gathering restrictions. Families and spectators should be in groups of no more than 10 people in open, outdoor venues and spread out around the ground or venue. Everyone must keep 1.5 meters apart
For everyone:
• Return To Play is all about common sense
• If you or your child is ill stay at home
• Use the hand sanitiser provided before, during and after the game
• Turn up Game Ready
• Get In, Play, Get Out
Some changes to how Game Days will operate
• Games will be scheduled 20 mins apart
• Most Clubs, Templestowe JFC included will have no access to Change Rooms (logistically too hard to manage as there is a maximum of 20 people allowed, including players and they must be wiped down after use)
• Only players and nominated officials can go onto the ground - i.e. no spectators on the ground before the game, quarter time or at end of the game
• Coaches can address players on the ground only and only once the other teams have vacated prior
• We will have no Canteen for weeks One and Two. We will have a coffee van
• Footballs will be sanitised at each break
• If stretchers are used, they must be sanitised
• No players who reside within designated hotspots are to play.
If we all follow the protocols and use common sense, we should have an uninterrupted season of watching our kids enjoy football with their mates, and we will be able to watch and catch up with friends, and drink a coffee on the boundary – 1.5 meters apart!
Registration
We are ask all families to ensure their child is registered and that you have paid by Wednesday July 8. Please note that we have confirmed with the YJFL if the season is cancelled, then there will be refunds at the end of the year.
